Both of our children have had a wonderful experience attending Little People Preschool. It has a warm, accepting atmosphere, and the parent participation aspect provides a real sense of community. The teachers have great energy, and are skilled in adapting activities to suit each situation and child's interest.

(read all 3 comments)A parent participation preschool housed in a dedicated space in a church hall behind Kerrisdale Elementary School. The site is being redeveloped however, and the preschool will have to find a new home in the next year or two. The preschool was founded 30+ years ago and has been in the same space the whole time. The result is a space filled with an eclectic collection of crafts, toys, posters and craft materials. It is a bit cluttered but the teachers know where everything is. The school operates as a parent participation preschool which means parents must attend 10 hours of training and then they must attend the preschool on a rotating basis (1-2 x/month) to help out. There is also a mandatory monthly parent meeting with an educational component. There are also fundraising and social events throughout the year that are primarily geared to the parents. For those who want to be very involved in their child's preschool and want to make new parent friends, this may be the place for you. For us, however, it was a lot of parent, a lot of participation and not a lot of preschool! I
